Cyclists are required to obey the same road rules as car and motorcycle drivers as well as other additional bicycle-specific rules. Like all road users, cyclists can be fined for failing to follow these rules.
Currently adults and children over 13 can ride on the footpath if they are accompanying a child under 12 on a bike.
